Common Admission Test (CAT)

A national-level entrance examination for admission to postgraduate management programs (MBA/PGDM) in IIMs and other top B-Schools in India.

Key Dates

  • Registration: Aug - Sep
  • Admit Card: Oct - Nov
  • Exam Date: Last Sunday of November
  • Result: First week of January

Eligibility

Bachelor's degree with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA. Final year students are also eligible to apply.

Application Process

Apply online through the official IIMCAT website. Pay the application fee and upload required documents.

Exam Pattern

Computer-based test with 3 sections: Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension (VARC), Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DILR), and Quantitative Ability (QA).

Syllabus

VARC

Reading Comprehension, Para Jumbles, Para Summary, Odd One Out.

DILR

Tables, Bar Graphs, Line Charts, Caselets, Seating Arrangement, Blood Relations.

QA

Arithmetic, Algebra, Geometry, Modern Math, Number System.
